It happens every year, since 1973, and even the bitter cold of winter can’t stop it. On January 1, at 1pm, people line up along the frigid waters of Lake Michigan with only one thing in their minds – to run in. It sounds crazy, insane crazy, but that doesn’t stop anyone from doing it.

Sheboygan, WI is the perfect location to escape for a 4th of July getaway. Your family will discover a variety of 4th of July events at Freedom Fest here in Sheboygan for Independence Day from the Freedom Run and Independence Day parade to live music, fireworks over the lake, and even a Venetian Boat Parade on Sheboygan's riverfront.

Generally held at the beginning of August, the Fairyfolk Festival is the longest running event at Bookworm Gardens. Everyone will love the stories, artmaking, and woodland magic.


August 2nd-4th, 2024

New tournament divisions. Featuring bands Friday and Saturday. Now including Sheboygan, Manitowoc, and Port Washington. A day prior to the tournament a random fish will be picked from the five species categories with a random weight. The individual to register the closest fish weigh will win $500.

August 9th-11th, 2024

Sheboygan, WI welcomes powerboat racing back to the western shore of Lake Michigan for a second year! This year's event will be open to all offshore classes. Race teams are expected from around the world, including Australia, Italy, Sweden, Canada, and Norway.

Speed seekers, water enthusiasts, and families will all enjoy this inaugural competition and exhibition weekend in Sheboygan, WI on the pristine waters of Lake Michigan right in front of Blue Harbor Resort. Bring your own chairs or blankets, food and drinks for watching the races from one of the public viewing areas. You will also find food trucks stationed in various spots near the viewing areas.  


August 29th-September 2nd, 2024

Traditionally held over Labor Day weekend, the Sheboygan County Fair in Plymouth, WI, has everything you'd expect from a fair from top notch entertainment, exhibitors and vendors, fair food, and of course a showcase of all things Wisconsin farming in Sheboygan County has to offer.


Labor Day weekend is the unofficial start of surf season in Sheboygan, WI! Hang with fellow surfers and catch a few waves on Lake Michigan off Deland Park or right in front of Blue Harbor Resort.

Besides FREE LIVE MUSIC, the History Hill Music Fest is the perfect chance to enjoy a beautiful fall day! Bring a chair or a blanket and stretch out in front of the porch of the Weinhold Log Cabin to enjoy these performers in a historic setting!

This family-friendly event has everything to keep the whole gang happy. Make your own mini stumpf fiddle (supplies limited), pioneer activities for all to try and FREE admission to the Sheboygan County Museum. A great selection of tasty food and beverage is also available for purchase. Be sure to mark your calendars and join us!


Bring the whole family to this not-so-spooky event with thousands of lights throughout the gardens, plus tons of activities for the kiddos.


Friday after Thanksgiving - New Year's Eve

Join us for Sheboygan County Rotary Clubs' Making Spirits Bright, a free drive-through holiday light display set to festive holiday music in Sheboygan, WI. This holiday light display is set up in Evergreen Park with entertainment, wreath raffles, and concessions at the Quarryview Center located across from the park where families will also enjoy the opportunity to visit with Santa or board a trolley to take you through the holiday light display.

We are proud to sponsor this community event! Making Spirits Bright partners with Sheboygan County Food Bank, recruiting volunteers to help collect thousands of pounds of non-perishable food and personal care items for families facing hunger. Over 850,000 pounds of pantry items have been collected since Making Spirits Bright's inception in 2012.

Admission is free, but pantry items are appreciated to support local food pantries throughout Sheboygan County Food Bank.
