Founded by TJ and Anne Sommer, SoLu Estate’s roots trace back to the year 2000 when the property was initially part of The Highlands Sportsmen's Club. The discovery of ideal grape-growing soil sparked the dream of a winery, culminating in the birth of SoLu Estate, a namesake honoring their beloved children, Sophie and Luke.

While grape cultivation began in 2003, it wasn't until 2016 that SoLu Estate officially opened its doors, swiftly becoming a sought-after destination in southeastern Wisconsin. The acclaim garnered by its wines and meads, adorned with numerous awards, catapulted SoLu Estate to local and national fame, featuring prominently across television series and esteemed magazines. For non-wine drinkers, there are a number of craft beers and non-alcoholic drinks to choose from.

Embracing a warm and welcoming ambiance, SoLu Estate prides itself on delivering an unforgettable experience. The winery’s ethos revolves around sharing moments, fostering learning about wine and mead, and creating cherished memories among friends and family. The winery’s vibe is intentionally casual, because they believe wine and mead should not be intimidating, but inviting.

Beyond the enchanting facade lies a working winery and meadery housing 14 grape varietals, alongside one of Wisconsin's rare meaderies. Crafting award-winning mead from the estate's own beehives adds an authentic touch to the experience. The Winery boasts an array of attractions, from a full bar and indoor dining area to The Market retail shop.

As the seasons transition, SoLu Estate transforms its offerings, hosting winter excursions like the Moonlight Snowshoe Vineyard Experience on its picturesque property Saturdays during January and February, participants indulge in a journey through history and stories, culminating in a gathering back at the winery building for grilled chicken breast sandwiches, charcuterie, warm soup, and three generous wine tastings by a bonfire party area. Snowshoes are available for rent, although hiking boots suffice for this captivating experience.

During the fall and winter seasons, live entertainment and dining are hosted inside, but during the warmer months, the Quarry Stage beckons with open-air live music, providing an unbeatable backdrop of vineyard views.
