HIKING IN SHEBOYGAN WI NEAR BLUE HARBOR RESORT

Parnell Tower Trail

About Parnell Tower Trail

Located a short drive from Blue Harbor Resort in Sheboygan, WI, and along the Kettle Moraine Scenic Drive, Parnell Tower Trail is a popular Fall colors destination with expansive views any time of year. The 3.5-mile trail loop begins with a series of steps leading to the highest point of elevation in Kettle Moraine State Forest. Rising 60 feet above that point is Parnell Tower.

Not for the faint-of-heart, you will need to climb several flights of stairs on this wooden observation tower to reach the summit, but the panoramic views are well worth the effort. On a clear day you may see as far as 25 miles of the surrounding forest and farmlands. It's clear to see why this is a popular Fall destination for peeping Fall colors as far as the eye can see!

The 3.5 miles of the Parnell Tower Trail loop overlaps with a segment of the Ice Age National Trail, a 31-mile trail traveling the length Kettle Moraine State Forest.

A couple of things to note before you head out on the trail:

  • Picnic tables, grills, drinking water, and vault toilets are adjacent to the trailhead.
  • The parking lot is closed during winter.
  • Pets on designated trails must be on a leash no longer than 8 feet long.
