Summer technically doesn’t begin until June 21, but we’re already soaking in the beautiful Wisconsin sunshine here in Sheboygan. The first-rate outdoor pool at Blue Harbor Resort has been a favorite sunbathing locale since the lovely, warm May winds swept in from the West, and Breaker Bay, one of the top water parks in Wisconsin, has been putting smiles on guests faces since it first opened. Here are some packing tips and details about our Lake Michigan shoreline beach, Breaker Bay Waterpark, and the outdoor pool.
What to Bring
The time to pack for your Eastern Wisconsin getaway is here. Leave your winter coat, wool hat, and snow pants at home because the average high here in June, July and August is an ideal 77 degrees. With one of the best water parks in Wisconsin, a breathtaking beach, and a grand outdoor pool, choosing what to bring to Blue Harbor Resort is vital. You would be surprised how many guests forget the essentials: swimsuit, sunscreen, beach towel, sandals, and sunglasses. The kiddos will enjoy the water even more with swim goggles, ear plugs, and swim shoes. If you’re planning on sunbathing on our private beach, think about packing a beach chair. Don’t worry about bringing food and drinks, The Sand Bar and Rocky Bottom Snack Bar have you covered!
Breaker Bay Waterpark
The temperature is always a soothing 84 degrees inside Breaker Bay Waterpark. Regardless of age, Breaker Bay is guaranteed to bring the kid out of you! Enjoy four fast waterslides, Molly’s Moat lazy river, the gigantic Turtle Tub whirlpool, and the Riptide Double Surf Simulator, the only one of its kind in Eastern Wisconsin. Once you’ve had your fill of aquatic fun, grab a 3 Sheeps brew or a margarita at Rocky Bottom Snack Bar. If your stomach is rumbling, Rocky Bottom has tasty, inexpensive pizzas, cheese curds, chicken bacon ranch wraps, and everything in between.
Where to Soak up the Sun
The quintessential locale to sunbathe at Blue Harbor Resort is the outdoor pool and deck, plump full with comfy beach chairs. The kids can splash in this extra large pool, while you grab a cold beer or a frozen cocktail at The Sand Bar. With dramatic Lake Michigan views, the outdoor pool is the premier place to relax and unwind under the sun. A short walk from the resort you’ll find a private, stunning beach. Lake Michigan is massive, so the water is quite cold. Wait until mid-July before taking a dip. Our beach is also a prime sunbathing locale, so prop up a chair, relax, and soak in the warm summer air.
