BLUE HARBOR RESORT ON LAKE MICHIGAN IN SHEBOYGAN MAKES SURE BLUE HOLIDAY IS ANYTHING BUT Blue-Themed Activities Range from Blue Spruces to a Blue Blizzard Waterpark Race Sheboygan, WI (October 25, 2007) -- It will be a blue Christmas season at Blue Harbor Resort™ on the shores of Lake Michigan in Sheboygan, Wis., and that’s a good thing. The resort today announced its line-up of “Harbor Holiday” activities themed around all things blue and festive and fun. First up, a new tradition at the resort, with a 25-foot blue spruce potted for display outside the Grand Lobby. On a holiday take on the rubber duck race concept, there will be a rubber toy snowman race, with guests placing their allotted snowman toy in a competition that will have it rolling down one of the waterslides and through the lazy river in the resort’s waterpark. The family with the snowman that crosses the finish line first will be showered with prizes, including a future stay at the resort. Complete details on the calendar of activities listed below may be found online at www.blueharborresort.com or by calling 866-701-BLUE (2583). Festival of Trees, November 30, December 1 and 2: This annual event, a fundraiser for local charities, lights up the resort’s conference center. Professionally decorated trees and other lovely holiday items will be auctioned and raffled. More than 6,000 people attended last year. Consider adding on a Teddy Bear Tea to your itinerary. Santa Arrives, December 1: Santa makes a soft landing in the resort lobby. Children will be able to tell him their Christmas wishes Friday and Saturday evenings through December 22. Express Mail to the North Pole, All December: Children can head to the special “Writing Depot,” where letters will be express mailed daily to the North Pole. There will also be a Secret Santa Station where kids can create and wrap gifts for their friends and family. Story Time with Milk and Cookies, All December: Why should Santa be the only one to enjoy the sweet treats of the season? Every night there will be story time in the lobby, complete with milk and cookies. On Fridays and Saturdays, local carolers and madrigal singers will add to the festive atmosphere. Breakfast with Santa, Saturdays and Sundays, December 2-20: Children may see the wisdom of breakfast being the most important meal of the day when they get to share it with Santa. Rubber Toy Snowman Race, December 15: Overnight guests will find a toy snowman placed on their pillow upon check-in the night before. The next morning at 9 a.m. in the waterpark, the snowmen take to the water with no fear of melting as they race down a waterslide and wind through the lazy river on the way to the finish line. The winning family will receive a Blue Harbor Resort prize package and free stay for a future visit. Real Reindeer, December 22: Live reindeer, appropriately named Dancer and Prancer, prance onto the grounds of the resort. Holiday Movie Classics, December 1-21: Kids will love the magical “Polar Express” story, while everyone in the family can reminisce while watching other holiday classics. Gift Cards under the Tree, December 1 to 20: Guests who spend two or more nights at the resort during the first few weeks of December will find a little something in their stocking -- that’s check-in packet in lay terms -- a $50 gift card to spend however they like at the resort.
